THE
FEAST OF TEMPORARY DWELLINGS
Today I am going to do an addition to the 7th
Month High Days Video part IV that discusses the Feast of Temporary Dwellings.
It is also
called the feast of ingathering because it is associated with the timing of the fall harvest.
All
three feasts are centered around the three harvests for symbolism and this one is to point us to the final and larger harvest
of our Creator’s family that He is building.
This year, this 7 day Feast begins today,
Thursday, October 13th for much of the world including the Australia, New Zealand, South America, most of Africa and
the U.S. except for Alaska.
And it begins tomorrow, Friday, October 14th for Europe, Israel,
much of Canada and for those in areas like China and Russia if there are any there observing it in these areas.
Our Creator has made it clear that He is the one that scattered Israel for their rebellion to Him; therefore He wants
those who will return to Him being obedient to Him from our individual locations.
These
last days are proving to be a test of obedience for those who will return to Him.
His calendar
is not being based from Jerusalem at this time and Yehshua said that Jerusalem is like Sodom and Egypt at this time.
When He returns the scattered nations of Israel to Israel, then Jerusalem will once again be set apart and the decree
of the beginning of each month will flow from there.
Until then, He gave us a movable clock
that we can return to Him through by obeying His instructions.
Some have asked me what are
we to do on this feast.
It certainly is a different time that we live in with the world
beginning to come unglued and so far there are so few who are hearkening to His voice and coming out of the bondage.
These numbers will increase but sadly it is going to take much calamity to humble a people to return to Him.
I said in the part IV video that our Creator will place His name where those who are returning to Him are.
So it is not a matter of traveling to a feast site like Israel did in times past.
This
is the last feast of its kind before Yehshua returns so it is a very special feast.
The
reason that I say this is because the 7th and final day of the feast is about ready to begin.
The
7th day of this feast represents the last 1,000 years of His blueprint to build His eternal family, just as the 7th day Sabbaths
do as well.
We are told to build temporary dwellings out of branches of trees and enter
into them with the fruit of His blessings.
And we are to sit in them each day and reflect
on His strategy for us to become as He is.
He wants for us to reflect on how He did not
allow Israel to enter into the Promised Land for 40 years because they did not trust Him to deliver the land to them.
He wants us to reflect on how none of them who did not trust Him were allowed to enter in.
He wants us to reflect on how so few have turned to His call in the first 6,000 years of man’s time here on
earth.
He wants us to reflect on how our rebellion to Him separates us from Him but if we
will trust and obey Him, then He will be our source for everything.
If we trust and obey
Him, then He will be our fore guard and our rear guard.
He wants us reflecting on our temporary
time here in the flesh and reflecting on what He wants to accomplish in us while we are here in the flesh.
He wants us examining our journey and examining our trials and His blessings.
Neh
8:14-15
14 And they found written in the Torah which YEHWEH
had commanded through Moses that the children of Israel should dwell (sit) in huts in the feast of the seventh month:
15 And that they go and hear and shout out in all their cities,
and in Jerusalem, saying, go forth to the mountains, and fetch olive branches, and pine branches, and myrtle branches, and
palm branches, and branches of thick (dense or twined) trees, to make huts as it is written.
Leviticus 23 adds that we are to make these huts from goodly trees and uses an additional description of the willows
of a brook so we certainly have a variety of building materials to choose from.
We are also
told that it is to be a week of rejoicing in Leviticus 23 and in;
Deut 16:14-15
14 AND YOU SHALL REJOICE IN THE FEAST, you, and your son,
and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow
that are within your gates.
15 Seven days
you shall keep a solemn feast unto the YEHWEH Elohiym in the place which YEHWEH shall choose: because YEHWEH Elohiym blesses
you in all of your increase and in all the works of your hands, THEREFORE YOU SHALL SURELY REJOICE.
It is definitely to be a time of reflecting on all of His blessings
and His provision and a time of rejoicing for being under His wings of protection and enthusiasm for all that He wants to
give us.
And there certainly is so much to rejoice about at this present time because of
the truth that He is restoring.
In times past, we were to save up for His 3 feasts to delight
in them with the desires of our hearts.
Feasting could certainly include eating your favorite
foods if they are clean but there is so much more to His blessings that He wants us to examine and reflect upon.
Our favorite foods and the other things that we delight in are really insignificant compared to what He wants to
accomplish in us and what this will lead to if we yield to His molding influence in our lives.
He
said to bring the fruits of our labors into the hut with us which would mean to bring that which we delight in with us.
But all of this is to point us to His eternal plan for us to become His family.
It was asked of me how long are we supposed to sit in these huts each day.
This
would be up to each of you and your heart’s desire.
And there are many other ways
that you can delight in Him as well when you are not in the hut like a scenic hike if it not on the Sabbath day or maybe even
a drive in the country with your family.
Allot of people want to make this feast about activities
and other distractions though so we have to be careful not to fall into this trap.
There
certainly is not much available to do in this filthy world as far as activities that would be edifying anyway, this is for
sure.
But if you have a family to enjoy this feast with, enjoy some time each day with them
reflecting on what our Creator is doing together and reflecting on His overall plan to build an eternal family.
I don’t know of any groups of people who are returning to the truth that are in close proximity to one another
at this time so fellowshipping as a group probably is not an option for any of you, at least not that I know of.
But if it is, then you would want to rejoice with those who are rejoicing in the same thing.
The good news is next year will be different so we have much to look forward to.
All
that are delivered into the millennium will go up to the feast.
We read this in;
Zech 14:16
16 And it will come to pass that every
one that is left of all of the nations which came against Jerusalem will go up from year to year to worship the King, YEHWEH
of hosts, AND TO KEEP THE FEAST OF TEMPORARY DWELLINGS.
Or, the next few verses say that they will have consequences.
It will be an exciting
and wonderful time to live when all things are restored.
And knowing that this time is coming
gives us an awesome opportunity to focus on looking forward to this time.
We are so close
to the last 1,000 years of His 7,000 year plan beginning and this should be exciting to each of you and give you something
to truly rejoice about.
And the following day after the feast is over is a very special
Sabbath because it represents the great white throne of judgment when there will be a great resurrection.
I mentioned that the 7th day of the feast is also very special day but it is not listed as a set apart assembly like
the 7th day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread is.
But numbers chapter 29 shows us that there
were additional offerings that were to be made on each of the 7 days, including this 7th day.
So
it is definitely to be a week of a total focus on what our Creator has done for us and what He is offering to us to become
His forever.
We are also to read His Torah on each of the 7 days although the only day that
is a commanded set apart assembly is the 1st day which is a high Sabbath.
Neh 8:18
18 Also day by day, from the first day unto the last day, HE
READ FROM THE BOOK OF THE TORAH OF ELOHIYM. And they kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day was a solemn
assembly, according unto the manner.
The main thing to not let escape is
it is to be an awesome time of rejoicing in our Creator and all that He has offered us and all that He has given to us.
And like I said, this year of all years, we have so much to rejoice over.
Enjoy your feast bathing in His offer to become His children forever.
REJOICE!
